Granite Belt is Queensland's best known wine region, with altitudes ranging from 700 to 1250 metres above sea level. During the 1900's eastern Australia experienced an increase in population as a result of the gold rush in 1852, attracting many international visitors to migrate to our country. Consequently the result was to expand the operations of many vineyards to supply the demand of the diggers.

In particular, the winemaking heritage of the Granite Belt stems back to some decades ago, where the area was considered ideal for winemaking by the descendents of early Italian pioneers. Aussie Vineyard's Henty Estate has a proven history in producing high quality table grapes, sweet stone fruits, vegetables and beef cattle. The soils are now predominantly free draining loamy sands to coarser granite and provide root zones of around 500 to 600 millimetres.

The vines currently planted include Verdelho, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard comprises a land area of 60 hectares suitable for viticulture, and is sure to produce a yield of 400 tonnes of fruit at full production.

Aussie Vineyards' Henty Estate is located 250 kilometres from Brisbane and 22 Kilometres from Stanthorpe. Within close vicinity to Ballandean Village and visible from the New England Highway, the estate is uniquely landmarked with one of Queensland's well known landmark – the Ballandean Pyramid. The estate also consists of cricket oval and 2 dams.
